Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, is a rapidly growing city that offers an array of cultural attractions and a wide variety of restaurants and nightlife venues. With its mix of modern amenities and traditional culture, Bishkek is an excellent destination for those who want to experience all that Central Asia has to offer.

The time of your visit is critical in a country where the great majority of attractions are rural and high altitude. Summer is good, when treks and roads are often open. In the summer, Kazakh and Russian visitors go to the beaches of Lake Issyk-Köl, which never freezes. From October to May, many rural accommodation shutters and the yurts that offer so much charm to the Alpine panoramas are tucked away — unless you’re coming to ski or snowboard, a winter stay is not recommended.
