On arrival meet the driver and transfer to the hotel. Your hotel is in City Center area (Kamppi). Check in the hotel and evening free on your own. Overnight at the hotel in Helsinki. 

Breakfast at the hotel. Later day free or proceed for private guided sightseeing tour takes you through the main parts of the city of Helsinki, avoiding crowds and queues. Hietalahti Market Square, Senate Square, Temppeliaukio Church, The Sibelius Monument, Uspenskin Cathedral (Uspenskin Katedraali). Later evening free on your own.

Breakfast and check-out from the hotel and later proceed to Airport to board the flight to Rovaniemi. From the airport, only a short drive and we arrive to amazing Apukka Resort, situated in the middle of pure nature. After check-in, you can enjoy our views and the arctic playground before coming for dinner.

Gaze at the wintry sky from the comfort of your bed. A night in Aurora Cabin is one of the most unique holiday experiences you can have. You can truly sense the arctic nature and space opening up above and around you. Half board dinner in Restaurant Aitta 

Our restaurant Aitta serves Nordic cuisine with modern twist and uses locally produced ingredients. The true heart of the restaurant is a huge stone fireplace with oven, where we actually bake buns and braise delicious stew. High windows in the dining area gives amazing view to the lake. For this evening, we set special Aitta buffet in the dining room.

Aurora Hunt by Snowtrain 

 In the evening, it’s time to go to winter wonderland in a warm carriage of our famous Snowtrain. We head out in the wilderness, far from artificial lights, looking for the Northern Lights. We cross the beautiful snowy landscape to reach a traditional, Lappish “kota”; a hut deep in the wilderness. This excursion is completely focused on the Northern Lights, but you also get to experience the beauty of the pure, snowy forest, darkness, quietness. As the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, nobody can give a 100% guarantee to see them, but this trip presents an excellent chance.

First, we get to know the many ways of transportation in Lapland: 

• in Reindeer sledge, smoothly and with no rush, enjoying the silence of nature 
• in Husky sledge, having a brisk ride with team of eager dogs, 
• and, on a Snowmobile seat (mini snowmobiles for kids), like the locals mostly do nowadays.

Enjoy your breakfast leisurely and get ready for the joyful activities, where all the top things-to-do are wrapped up for you as little tasters! In honour of NY’s Eve, we’ve added also some special Lappish Magic into the program. 

 Also, we have chance to feed the reindeer in their fence, try traditional suopunki lasso casting in order to catch the wooden reindeer and also, lots of winter fun activities are available for us. For instance, you will get to try your skills as an ice sculptor! 

And, then comes the magical part of the program… 

We will go and meet a Lappish Shaman in his kota tepee We will experience the magical Lappish ceremony, and if the Shaman is favourable us, he might use his fortuneteller’s gift and give a hunch what is expected for Year 2020. Before leaving Shaman’s shelter, we receive a little New Year’s gift from him. And, it has also a special meaning… After an exciting day, it time to enjoy tasty lunch at the restaurant.

Festive Dinner & New Year Celebration 

As its New Year’s Eve, it’s naturally time for a Festive Buffet dinner in the evening, with glass of sparkling and good atmosphere, and after that, entertaining New Year’s celebration together with the other guests.

It is time to say bye-bye for Lapland. Take the last deep breaths of fresh air and save the magical moments into your mind. It’s time to start your journey back to home.
