The Bergen Railway is a unique experience on Northern Europe’s highest-altitude railway line. One of the greatest challenges is the harsh and changeable weather.
Today, skilled workers, effective equipment, tunnels, and snow tunnels make the Bergen Railway one of the safest and most comfortable ways of traveling between Oslo and Bergen. The line was voted one of the 20 best railway experiences in the world in 1999.
Change train at Myrdal – Mountain Railway down to Flåm
The Flåm Railway has been named one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world and is one of the leading tourist attractions in Norway. The train runs from the end of Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the Sognefjord, up to the high mountains at Myrdal station. The journey displays the very best aspects of Western Norway`s stunning scenery.
Arrive at Flåm and walk down to the pier for the boat to Gudvangen – be on board at least 20 minutes prior to departure.
Cruise from Flåm to Gudvangen
The boat sails out the Aurlandsfjord and into the Nærøyfjord, one of the narrowest fjords in Europe. The Nærøyfjord is included on UNESCO’s famous World Heritage List. Surrounded by towering mountains up to 1,800 meters high,
this branch of the Sognefjord is amazingly beautiful. On the journey, you have excellent views of small traditional farms. If you are lucky, you will see
goats grazing right beside the fjord and seals basking on rocks before the boat moors at Gudvangen.
Arrive at Gudvangen and walk up the pier for bus departure to Voss. Bus from Gudvangen to Voss
Arrive at Voss and meet up with your private transfer from Voss to Lofthus – look for

Drive to Lofthus through Hardanger and check in to your hotel, located by the shore of the Hardangerfjord, the queen of fjords.
